Eco 3G collaborates in the management of the European project AMBIANCE
Sustainable and recyclable products will be developed for urban and outdoor environments, in the project coordinated by ITAINNOVA · Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón, main contact with the European Commission and responsible for the technical management of the activities of this project.
Starting from biobased raw materials –plastics whose monomers come from natural resources and not fossils–, through the use of sustainable manufacturing models and through their optimization, the main objective is to reduce the environmental impact, seeking to make these products the most common in European cities.
The AMBIANCE project, which belongs to the Horizon Europe programme, has a dozen partners from six countries, Switzerland, Greece, Austria, Sweden, Italy and Spain, and, with a budget of 4.57 million euros, will be carried out over 48 months
In principle, the project focuses on producing biobased materials, which have better developed characteristics compared to petroleum-based products, and where material optimization technology has been deployed and its characteristics have been tested.
The Technological Institute of Aragon, ITAINNOVA, will serve as a guide for whoever is ultimately a user of these products, such as companies or institutions, defining the needs and guidelines of the relevant value chains and contributing in an essential way to developing or characterizing these biomaterials chosen in the project. , being able to extend to digital twins, developing monitoring and optimizing its processes.
This project has to focus on three value chains at the time of manufacturing and that are included in 3 classes of end user. Therefore, at least three companies will cover the areas of: sports facilities, outdoor furniture and construction bricks together with decorative panels. At this point, the durability of the products will be taken into consideration according to their own idiosyncrasies.
